Who is Specialist Psychological Counselor Mısra Ülger?

Specialist Psychological Counselor Mısra Ülger was born in Ankara in 1998. She completed her undergraduate education in the Guidance and Psychological Counseling department at Maltepe University, and then earned her specialist title by completing her master's degree at Yıldız Technical University.

During her master's studies, she prepared a project on eating disorders in the field of Psychological Counseling and Guidance (PCG), addressing the relationship between body image, eating behaviors, and psychological processes at an academic level. This study provided an important theoretical foundation for her counseling work, particularly with adolescents and young adults.

Having valued her professional development since her university years, Ülger supported new students during their adaptation processes through the Peer Mentorship program and took her first steps in counseling through this experience.

Throughout her career, she has not limited herself to individual counseling alone; she has actively worked in kindergartens and primary schools. She served as an administrator in kindergartens while also fulfilling the role of school psychological counselor. Thanks to this multifaceted experience gained in educational institutions, she closely followed children's developmental processes and established a holistic support system in collaboration with teachers and families.

In 2021, she participated in an exchange program in the USA, during which she received English language education at Santa Monica College. Throughout her time in the USA, she had the opportunity to work with children and families, gaining an international perspective by observing parent-child relationships across different cultural settings.

She met with parents in Los Angeles and New York, where she had the opportunity to closely observe parenting attitudes, child-rearing approaches, and family communication dynamics across different cultures. This process strengthened her cross-cultural perspective and brought a broader outlook to her counseling work with families.

Having begun accepting clients under supervision during the pandemic, Specialist Psychological Counselor Mısra Ülger actively works with children, adolescents, adults, and parents. In addition, she has worked in elderly care centers with dementia patients, conducting support processes addressing the cognitive, emotional, and social needs of the elderly population. In doing so, she has expanded her professional practice to encompass different developmental stages of life.

She has also provided institutional psychological counseling services, collaborating with various organizations and conducting psychoeducation, counseling, and development-oriented programs for employees and managers. For a period, she served at the Koruncuk Foundation, where she carried out group psychological counseling (GPC) work with children and young people studying there. This experience strengthened her field knowledge in working with disadvantaged groups and her social responsibility approach.

Adopting an eclectic counseling approach, Ülger believes that each individual's life story is unique. In her work, she places not only the individual but also their family and social system at the center. She conducts carefully structured processes tailored to the specific needs of mothers, fathers, and children, using both individual and systemic approaches.

The Psychodrama Training she started in 2022 has been an important turning point in her professional practice.

She is receiving analytical psychology and Jung-based trainings at C. G. Jung Institute Zürich, and continues her trainings on child and parent work through the Institute of Child Psychology.

Today, Specialist Psychological Counselor Mısra Ülger works with an understanding based on ethical principles, empathy, and trust, offering professional and compassionate companionship to her clients across a wide range from children to the elderly. With her multifaceted field experience, institutional work, and family-centered approach, she aims to create a space where each client feels understood, valued, and safe.
